This panorama captures fans at Kinnick Stadium turning and doing the Iowa Wave to children watching from the windows of the University of Iowa's Stead Family Children's Hospital. From the top floor, patients and families can come together to watch the Hawkeyes play from their own "Press Box". Children often tape signs to the windows of the rooms in support of the team, and fans support them back with the full stadium doing the Iowa Wave. Hawkeye football began in 1872, when it was first played as an intramural game against other local colleges. Iowa Hawkeyes football was officially founded in 1889, completed its first undefeated season in 1899, and began competing in the Big Ten Conference in 1900. The University is located in Iowa City, Iowa, and is considered one of America's "Public Ivy" universities.
